Diane Hamilton has lived in East Tennessee since 1970. She studied painting and drawing at the University of Tennessee, receiving her degree in Fine Arts in 1985.
Diane’s love of hiking and sightseeing in the Smokies has led her to choose these beautiful mountains and streams as subjects for her paintings. She also paints outdoor scenes from other locations throughout the Southeast.
The artist’s work begins with her choice of handmade and locally produced pastels, which allow her to evoke warm and engaging images. Painting in this medium, she strives to express a spontaneous and uplifting vision.
Diane enjoys working in pastels and painting landscape and animals are her favorite subjects. Each animal in the gallery is someones beloved companion and it is a joy to capture the pet's likeness and spirit in her painting.
It is so interesting to know each animal's habits and personality. Diane has a mini-rex bunny Alice Cooper, who brings her so her family much happiness.
